Local POS Companies Giving Up On Restaurants
In A Industry Of Different Options, More Sales Reps & Companies Are Getting Away From Restaurants
I talk to a lot of people and companies in the point of sale industry.
Many locally-owned and nationally-known pos companies and sales reps are giving up on restaurants.
Whereas many (not all) nail salons, barbers, auto shops, retail stores, etc. use just a simple terminal that is the same regardless of the type of business and requires no setup, restaurants require a massive amount of work upfront to install the menu, ensure internet connectivity, train staff, setup payroll, setup online ordering and troubleshoot problems.
Running a restaurant is really so complex and it is evident in how they use their pos.
Something always goes wrong during installation for many companies and sales reps.
There’s always something that the restaurant brings up that they don’t like. This can be problematic if the company and sales rep is not experienced in troubleshooting and working around features.
It seems a bit like a mass exodus that companies and sales reps are taking from restaurants to instead sell other types of businesses.
This is exactly why I believe in Viral Bites mission so heavily.
We have seen the few large players in the pos space swallow up most of the restaurants.
This has caused the restaurant pos industry to become way less competitive, which has resulted in companies putting less emphasis on customer service after installation, enticed them to raise fees after installation sometimes as frequently every quarter and a lack of local customer support because many of the local companies are gone from trying to work in the restaurant space.
I for one can totally agree that working with restaurants is super complicated compared to other types of businesses.
But aligning with Viral Bites philosophy and why I started this company, we do not run in the face of challenge. We face it and see opportunity.
It actually excites me, because there is so few local pos companies for restaurants at this point.
Furthermore, we put a spin on the traditional model by providing some extra substance to our service, thereby unlocking a huge discrepancy in value for the right restaurant profile.
Viral Bites will continue to adapt as the industry squeezes out the local pos companies.
We’re committed to offering a large discrepancy in value for our clients and future clients.
